For the past five years, we've been working on a script that allows for a nearly admin-free, procedurally generated mission system for starship troopers roleplay. Action when you want it, downtime when you don't. You will never be hanging around, being told to roleplay doing laundry, waiting for an admin to change the map and run a half-baked event.
Implemented Features:
Selectable player classes. Kill, scout, heal, build, or call in air and orbital support from afar.
Unlockable weapons and upgrades. Once you've mastered the venerable Morita Mk I, work your way through plasma guns, missile launchers, disintegration beam weapons, automatic rocket rifles, and more.
Customizable equipment loadouts. You can requisition deployable turrets, sensor platforms for early warning, thermal vision 'Snoopers', and even power armour which improves your speed and allows you to leap or hover in place with an in-build jetpack.
Commandable allies. NPC troopers who follow the instructions of their fireteam leader.
Huge sccope. Infinite maps that expand as you move through them.
Base Construction. Use your trusty 'Sandcastle' printing tool to construct FOBs on the fly. If you're playing an engineer, gain access to special fortifications to help you lock down positions with layered defenses, so you won't even need to stick around and guard the base. Mostly.
Responsive enemies. If you approach one hole in a network, the whole hive will come after you. If you let the network grow too much, they'll build up a swarm to come find your base of operations.Â
Escalation system. If it all goes to hell, you'll need to call in the big guns. Air support dropships ranging from the nimble Skyhook with its armour-killing autocannon, all the way to the huge Viking, loaded up with enough gimble-mounted miniguns to cut through any swarm. In orbit, your ship is on standby to provide gatling bombardment, power suited Mobile Infantry in drop pods, and even nuclear missile barrages.
That's just the beginning.
Planned Features:
New factions (Skinnies and separatists)
A campaign layer, unlocking assets and gaining favours from ally regiments based on strategic choices
Cross-server communication, enabling multiple events to run concurrently, with command staff coordinating from the ship in orbit
